National Humanities Center Summer Residency Fellowships

As an institutional sponsor of the National Humanities Center (NHC), the Humanities Dean's Office has partnered with the Humanities Research Center (HRC) to sponsor two faculty members from the School of Humanities who would like participate in NHC's Summer Residency Program (June 3-28, 2019).

Founded in 1978 and based in North Carolina, NHC is an independent institute for advanced study in the humanities that operates as a privately incorporated nonprofit and is not part of any university or federal agency. The primary mission of the Center is its Fellowship Program, which brings together up to forty scholars each year so that they may pursue their research in conditions of freedom, collegiality, and scholarly support. Books written by NHC Fellows have won numerous prizes, and Fellows themselves have gone on to hold leadership positions in their colleges or universities, and in virtually every major scholarly organization in the humanities.
