    The Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) at Rice University assists the faculty, staff, and students in commercializing technology created and developed at Rice. In doing so, the OTT strives to contribute to the public good, further economic development in Houston and Texas, and enhance the reputation of Rice University while maintaining a fiduciary responsibility to the university and its faculty, staff, and student body.


    Technology Spotlight: Veiseh Lab

    The Veiseh laboratory utilizes advanced nano, micro, and macro fabrication techniques in combination with molecular engineering and cellular and molecular biology, to develop platforms of implantable devices tailored for in vivo chemical sensing and delivery of therapeutics. Samantha, Christian and Amanda are a part of the interdisciplinary group of scientists and engineers who are developing novel platforms of next generation therapeutics and diagnostics to improve the treatment of human diseases.     Licensing

    Negotiates license, option and inter-institutional agreements as well as markets available technologies to potential partners.

    Intellectual Property

    Assists Rice researchers with the invention disclosure and review process. Also assists with patent prosecution and Intellectual Property (IP) Portfolio Management.

    Industrial Contracts

    Negotiates various agreements to support research at Rice including; confidentiality, materials transfer, data use, collaboration and industry-sponsored research agreements.

    Finance

    Manages the office budget, license compliance, patent expenditures, and distribution of licensing revenue.
