The Biomaterials Lab at Rice University is a proud member of the Center for Engineering Complex Tissues (CECT), supported by the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering. The next stage in the development of regenerative medicine therapies and biofabricated tissues is the advancement of complex tissue engineering. Such organs and tissues require intricate control over cell and matrix density, patterns, and compositions. These challenges will be addressed by the CECT by using and advancing 3D-printing technologies and strategies.
