The Biomaterials Lab Participates in the 2018 Advances in Tissue Engineering Short Course

For the second year, the BML offers a special hands-on demonstration of 3D printing techniques for the Tissue Engineering field.

Workshop attendees learn about 3D printing hydrogels

The Biomaterials Lab was proud to take part in Rice University’s 26th Annual Advances in Tissue Engineering Short Course held from August 8-11, 2018. Over 100 participants representing over 15 different countries attended the course, representing both industry and academic institutions. On August 9, the short course dedicated a day to biofabrication research and technologies featuring many of the Center for Engineering Complex Tissue’s researchers. The day ended with Dr. Anthony Melchiorri presenting on various 3D printing modalities and their applications in tissue engineering, followed by hands-on demonstrations and tours in the Biomaterials Lab.

With this year’s success, the Biomaterials Lab and the CECT look forward to participating in and supporting the 2019 course. Participants can look forward to more discussion on cutting edge techniques and research in the fabrication of complex tissues. For more information, stay tuned to: http://tissue.rice.edu/
