New Lab for Biomaterials Research, Collaboration, and Innovation

The Biomaterials Lab opens to users.

Students work with 3D Printer

The Biomaterials Lab is proud to announce its upcoming opening. The Lab, as part of the newly established Center for Engineering Complex Tissues, will be dedicated to improving patient health and overcoming medical challenges through the development and support of biomaterials research, education, and entrepreneurship. Tools, training, and support will be provided to students at all levels, faculty, staff, and collaborators at Rice University and the surrounding community. The Lab will house the education and equipment necessary to fabricate and characterize materials. Louis Calder Professor of Bioengineering and Chemical and Biomelcular Engineering Antonios Mikos will direct this initiative to enhance biomaterials-related activities including developing regenerative medicine techniques, designing devices, and building prototypes. More details and information will follow for the next few months as the Lab prepares for its grand opening.
