DESCRIPTION
Older Instrument: The Malvern Instruments Zen 3600 Zetasizer is capable of measuring the size of dispersed particles and molecules in solution. New instrument: The Malvern Panalytical Zetasizer Advance - Ultra (Red) is newly installed light-scattering system for characterizing particle size, zeta potential, molecular weight, and particle concentration of dispersed particles and molecules in solution. The system combines Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Non-Invasive Back Scatter (NIBS), Multi-Angle Dynamic Light Scattering (MADLS), electrophoretic light scattering, and static light scattering technologies for comprehensive particle and molecular characterization. SPECIFICATIONS Particle Size Measurement Principle: Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), NIBS, and MADLS Measurement Angles: 173°, 13°, 90° Size Range: 0.3 nm – 15 µm Minimum Sample Volume: 3 µL Zeta Potential Measurement Principle: M3-PALS electrophoretic light scattering Size Range: 3.8 nm – 100 µm Maximum Sample Conductivity: 260 mS/cm Molecular Weight Measurement Principle: Static Light Scattering (SLS) Molecular Weight Range: 300 Da – 20 MDa Particle Concentration — Red Model Measurement Principle: MADLS / Mie scattering Concentration Range: 1 × 10⁸ – 1 × 10¹² particles/mL SYSTEM Laser: He-Ne, 633 nm Detector: Avalanche photodiode Temperature Control: 0°C – 120°C Software: ZS Xplorer KEY APPLICATIONS • Protein and biomolecule characterization
