Training consists of 1x 2-hour session for the basic functionalities of the potentiostat with a followup 2x 1.5-hour sessions for use of the GC. The user should bring a sample of interest to study, which may be a chemical or electrochemical reactor, battery, solar cell, or other device.

DESCRIPTION
The two instruments are used for electroanalytical measurements and coupled (or decoupled) gas chromatography. The Potentiostat is a VSP (up to 20V, 10 uA to 400mA) with EIS capability (10 uHz to 1 MHz) equipped with EC-Lab software and corresponding methods. The gas chromatograph is an Agilent 8890 equipped with a thermal conductivity detector, Argon carrier gas, and online sampling. GC columns are HayeSep Q and Molsieve 5A with backflush enabled, capable of observing H2, O2, N2, and some light hydrocarbons, although users must obtain their own calibration curves. Instruments can be used independently (e.g., gas chromatograph coupled to anon-electrochemical reactor or potentiostat coupled to a system that does not require gas analysis) or together.
