  • OTT Technology Spotlight Season 1 Episode 2: Kaiyaun Yang

Kaiyuan Yang is an Assistant Professor in Electrical & Computer Engineering at Rice University. He leads the Secure and Intelligent Micro-Systems (SIMS) Lab to innovate and build radically new hardware to enable emerging applications that are not possible without miniaturized low-power electronics, such as the internet of everything, ubiquitous computing, and bioelectronic implants and wearables.

His lab specializes in innovative analog/digital/mixed-signal circuits and system design to push the limits of energy efficiency and performance in miniaturized microsystems. The SIMS lab is interested in addressing pressing system challenges on security and machine learning from a hardware perspective, which are being explored through cross-layer design and optimization.
