Scientia, an Institute for Science and Culture, has been sponsoring lecture series and conferences that engage a broad range of disciplines since its founding in 1982. Our mission is to nurture a broadly cross/multi/interdisciplinary space for exploration of the intersections of science and culture. The purpose of our small conference program is to foster discussions, interactions, and a research agenda that operates at the interface between and among disciplines and offers potential to stimulate innovation/transformation in existing disciplinary understandings, concepts, paradigms, and practice.

Rice University’s Sustainable Futures Fund will be used to support interdisciplinary research on this broad range of challenges where Rice could be a leader in developing the technologies, policies, social framework and environmental understanding to be a force for an equitable, safe, and sustainable future on planet Earth.

Rice University’s Office of Technology Transfer is pleased to offer seed grants of $25,000 to faculty interested in commercializing their research.  

The Boniuk Institute for the Study and Advancement of Religious Tolerance conducts and supports research on religious tolerance from diverse perspectives, methods, and disciplines. The Boniuk Institute is currently accepting applications for Small Grants ranging from $2,000 to $5,000 (although outstanding proposals in excess of this amount will be considered).
