Dr. Adkins started his post-graduate career as Special Projects Manager at the Humanities Research Center (HRC) at Rice University. After helping the HRC promote initiatives at the intersection of medicine and the humanities, Dr. Adkins went on to serve as Assistant Professor of English at Cal State Fresno, where he taught literature courses and published peer-reviewed scholarship on postcolonial literature, satire, and critical theory. More recently, Dr. Adkins taught film, composition, and humanities courses at San Jacinto College. Now with the Office of Research Development at Rice, Dr. Adkins supports faculty researchers applying for grant funding from NSF, NIH, NASA, DOD, DOE, NEH, and other agencies. He does so through several tailored services that include research and identification; proposal planning; content development; compliance and review; and project management.
