Vasudha Kurapati Bharadwaj

Dr.  Bharadwaj has worked with academic and technical writing in various capacities for more than 25 years. She started her pre-doctoral career as an Assistant Editor with Oxford University Press. Her doctoral work from the University of Rochester led to the university’s first doctoral degree awarded by both the Department of English and the Department of History. During this time, she worked closely with doctoral students in various STEM departments on their dissertations and publications. She also taught undergraduate writing and writing within the biological and health sciences at the University of Rochester for many years. As a Lecturer of History, she taught at the State University of New York at Albany for two years. Her postdoctoral project at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zürich, in Switzerland was funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). She also secured several other grants from the SNSF during this time and published some of her work. Dr. Bharadwaj was a Lecturer in the Program in Writing and Communication at Rice University for six years before she joined the Office of Research Development. As an independent developmental editing consultant, she has worked closely with researchers in Switzerland and the United States on monographs and journal articles, as well as grant proposals that have been successfully funded by various federal agencies like NIH, NSF, and SNSF.  She is a member of the National Organization of Research Development Professionals.
