The Student Disability Resource Center (SDRC) provides accommodations and professional support services to students with documented disabilities, per the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the ADA Amendments Act of 2008, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Seeking to create accessibility across campus for all programs, classes, buildings, and activities, the SDRC follows the guiding principles set forth by the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD).
The SDRC aims to provide service that is accessible, accepting of differences, inclusive of diversity, respectful of needs, and knowledgeable in implementation. To this end, SDRC assists in certifying eligibility for services; helping to determine reasonable accommodations; developing plans for the provision of accommodations for students; and, finally, advising the university on the implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the ADA Amendments Act of 2008, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
