About CED Academy
The Computer Engineering Design (CED) Academy seeks to inspire 6th, 7th, and 8th grade middle school students to envision themselves as scientists and engineers by exposing them to hands-on design experiences that connect science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to tangible, real-life applications using new and exciting technology.
Participants in CED will learn Computer-Aided Design (CAD) programming. Students will be introduced to manufacturing techniques with a particular focus on rapid prototyping. They will also gain skills using 3D printers as well as hands-on experience with Micro-Bits and Rovers. Each student will have the opportunity to take home 3D-printed items they create at the end of the program.
