Research Internships for Community College Students

The Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) programs are 10-week, paid research internships for community college students majoring in STEM fields. The REU programs include an internship under the guidance of Rice University faculty and Rice University graduate student mentors, while working in a university research lab throughout the summer, and gaining valuable skills on giving research presentations. These internships are funded with support by the National Science Foundation.

Climate and Sustainability REU for Community College Students

The Climate and Sustainability Research Experience for Undergraduates (R-STEM REU) is a 10-week, paid summer research internship program for community college students enrolled in Greater Houston Area colleges. In addition to participating in the 10-week internship in a nanotechnology research laboratory at Rice University, participants will also experience seminars and presentations based on research conducted at Rice University, along with field trips related to their research.

NEWT REM for Undergraduate and Community College Students

The Nanotechnology-Enabled Water Treatment (NEWT) Research Experience & Mentoring Program (NEWT REM) is a 9-week, paid summer research internship for current undergraduate and community college students that provides an opportunity to work in research labs with a focus on water treatment at either The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), or Arizona State University (ASU).
