Research Experience for Community College Students
The Research Experience for Community College Students (REU) internships are paid research internships for community college students majoring in STEM fields. REU includes a 10-week internship in a university research lab and a lesson on giving presentations.These internships are funded by the National Science Foundation.
- Rice University Nanotechnology (Nano REU)
Nano Research Experience for Community College Students is a 10-week program for students enrolled in Greater Houston Area schools. In addition to the 10-week internship in a nanotechnology research laboratory, there will be seminars and presentations based on research conducted at Rice University.
- Nanosystems Engineering Research Center for Nanotechnology-Enabled Water Treatment (NEWT REU)
NEWT Nanotechnology Research Experience for Community College Students is a 10-week program for students enrolled in schools in the Houston, TX; El Paso, TX; and Phoenix, AZ areas. Selected students will work in research labs focused on water treatment at either Rice University, The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), or Arizona State University (ASU). In addition to the 10-week internship, there will be seminars and presentations based on research conducted at the host institution
