About REACH
Research Experiences Advancing Curriculum for Health (REACH) is a 5-year research experience program for high school biology teachers in cancer biology laboratories. The program assists teachers in bringing these research experiences into K-12 classrooms in culturally relevant and innovative ways. The program is funded by a grant from the National Institutes of Health and in partnership with Rice University professors.
The goal of the REACH program is to broaden participation in health and medicine careers by providing high school biology teachers with research internships in bioengineering and bioscience research labs at Rice University, developing high school biology learning experiences with a social justice framework, and disseminating these lessons broadly.
