Register today for one of our free webinars for parents and guardians of 6th-9th grade students. These seminars are possible due to collaboration between R-STEM, the George R. Brown School of Engineering, and the Tapia Center for Excellence and Equity in Education.
Space is limited so registration is on first-come, first-served basis.

Applying to/Paying for College
It’s not too early to think about college! Rice’s Office of Admission and Office of Financial Aid will share what middle schoolers and their parents can do now to prepare for college admission. Topics will include factors considered in admission decisions, various types of financial aid, and how to search for funding opportunities to support your education.

Aplicar y Pago a la Universidad
La Oficina de Admisión de Rice compartirá sobre Rice, los factores considerados al revisar a los solicitantes, cómo prepararse para ingresar a la universidad y analizar los avales de la escuela secundaria. Engineering Design Challenge
Join Matthew Cushing, R-STEM Executive Director, and Carrie Obenland Owens, Associate Director for Outreach & Research, for an Engineering Design Challenge you can do with your 6th-9th grade students. Your family will receive a Bristlebot kit and we will guide you through assembling your brush robot. Then we will give you a challenge to address with your new robot as if it were a Mars Rover. Space is limited, as supplies will be mailed to you.

Desafío de Diseño de Ingeniería
Acompañe a Isaias Cerda para un Desafío de Diseño de Ingeniería que puede usar con sus estudiantes de 6º a 9º grado. Su familia recibirá un kit Bristlebot y lo guiaremos a través del montaje de su robot cepillo. Luego, le ofreceremos un desafío para abordar con su nuevo robot como si fuera un Rover de Marte.
