What is Cayuse?
Cayuse is a cloud-based software application for sponsored project management and compliance management. Rice's Cayuse applications include Sponsored Projects (SP), Proposals (S2S, formerly known as Cayuse 424), and Human Ethics (Cayuse IRB).
Rice University faculty, staff, and students can log in to Cayuse (http://rice.cayuse424.com/) using the Rice NetID and password (Single Sign-On) without submitting the Cayuse user access request; however, if you are a Rice service provider or academic visitor or have not received your Rice NetID, please submit the Cayuse User Access Request Form to gain access.
If you are not affiliated with Rice and are requesting to be included in the Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocol, please complete the Non-Rice Affiliated Study Member Form and contact the IRB office directly at irb@rice.edu
If you are a research administrator and/or manage research proposals and awards in Cayuse, which requires access to:
- view Cayuse proposals and awards; or
- review and approve proposals on behalf of the department as the Cayuse IPF approver, and/or the pre-award/advanced spending approver; or
- receive the Cayuse automatically generated award notification via email; or
- add and/or remove the Cayuse data access roles and functional roles for departmental personnel within Cayuse; or
- view specific Cayuse proposals and awards not managed by your department for a specific PI or project;
Please also use the Cayuse User Access Request Form to submit such requests.
Rice's Cayuse Research Suite consists of the following modules:
- Sponsored Projects (Cayuse SP): Sponsored project lifecycle management from proposal creation to award close-out
- Proposals (Cayuse S2S): Web-based system with a direct portal to Grants.gov that provides grant proposal submission
- Human Ethics (Cayuse IRB): Electronic System for IRB (human subjects research) protocol submissions
